Dance with the piwakawaka

is what I've done on many an occasion. As any blipper who has danced with these guys knows it's a challenging one. These little insect eaters will hunt the midges and other tiny things kicked up by your feet, so they come close enough but it's like photographing a fly, darting in one direction then another. Often in the shade of the trees, so not so good light as here. It's my determined ambition to get one in flight.
