Lardy's

When I was a child we used to call last year's birds' nests lardy's. Children used to go bird nesting and I'm afraid to say some used to collect and blow the eggs. 

This crow's nest is more than a lardy's, it has been at Lodge Farm for years, which is amazing. The farm overlooks a valley and it's a very windy place. The tiles were ripped off the roof of the farmhouse in a gale a couple of winters ago but this nest stayed firmly put. Clever crows. :)
