Modern

"modern" is a word that often makes me prickle. I have seen so many volumes in second-hand bookshops that are titled "A modern guide to...." when, in fact, that are 80 years old. It seems to date so quickly. I settled for this "modern art" outside my office. Although I know the artist well, and like a lot of his work, I'm not sure that I really understand this "modern" art. i prefer paintings of 'real' landscapes, and 'real' people... sad, perhaps, but there it is!
