Laguna Beach at Sunset - B&W

I know what you are thinking, "why on earth would you take what appears to be a beautiful sunset and make it a Black and White?"  Well as it turns out the sunset view from Laguna was not as stunning as it was from Newport just north of there (see yesterday's photo).  And yes, kind of a cheat here - this and yesterday's photo were both taken on the same day, different camera, different location.  Laguna had the fog rolling in (see left of the picture) and so it was blocking out the sunset.  I was trying to capture the darkness of the fog with the rock, surf and sky.  I wanted to make the people walking as much shadow as possible without having them blend into the rock so I under exposed the shot.
