Drum's Lane

I came across a reference to Drum's Lane a few days ago, and considering I must have walked past it many times I set out to look for it. It is just to the left of the group houses shown here.

My expectations of a nice historic lane were very low, but even so it was a disappointment. The Lane still exists, but only just. It is little more than a doorway now, the doorway is actually a gate and so there is no access. I had intended to take the picture from inside the lane but to no avail. Even the name of the lane is partly obscured by the gate. Without the plaque at the entrance to the lane I might have been unsure I had found it.

I did manage to peer through a gap in the lane, there was a building at the end but I don't know what it is.
