The Gravelly Hill Interchange opened 40 years ago today the school took us to see a musical review at the Birmingham Rep theatre to celebrate the engineering achievement (it is still the most complex piece of road in the UK)

AKA Spaghetti Junction I actually love this stretch of road - the views (when you're stuck in the tail backs) can be impressive

40 years ago petrol was 35pence a gallon around 7pence a litre (ah the good old days)
