Our Native Kea
The five us are in the Arthur's Pass National which is way inland from Christchurch on the road to the beautiful West Coast. We are staying in a very cute little batch up on a hill with a wee veranda that we enjoyed drinkies and nibbles before dinner.
We set off at 8.30am and enjoyed a slow meander stopping at Lake Pearson for a lovely lunch. A very picturesque spot with some lovely reflections recorded. I thought a blip was in the bag, but when we arrived here we went on the hunt for the flowering Rata trees (our main purpose for this trip) another blip I thought I had in the bag! They are looking magnificent.
But, then the Kea's decided to perform for us so just had to put this up .... Aren't the colours incredible? The red in the background is the red flowers of the Rata.
One or two good ones but I've not seen them on the computer only on my iPad so may be disappointed when I get home.
Tonight the card game of 500 is under way, lots of laughter. Tomorrow we are going to a spot to capture the sunrise, and plan to walk up one of the valley tracks. Maybe a Robin?
