Here be Dragons...
Today is the first of a few days on leave from work, co-inciding with the end of the school half term holiday week. Apart from an audio conference with the office late in the morning, I have been free to spend time with the family.
In the morning, Miss C and I made drop pancakes, enjoyed by everyone for breakfast including Master H, although the bitterness of the lemon was quite evident across his young face! In the afternoon, Miss I expressed an interest in helping to bake. Beloved has lamented the lack of good biscuits in the house, so we made ginger thins, sometimes known as ginger snaps as when they're broken, that is exactly what they do. It is a recipe passed down through at least 2 generations; I remember well enjoying them as a child on visits to relatives in Lancashire.
Miss C is photo bombing in good style, whilst Miss I puts the finishing touches to a dragon biscuit, in recognition of the new lunar year being celebrated in China today. This biscuit once baked, didn't see much of the new year at all. There might however be a few remaining to take with us to London tomorrow...
