Holding the Goldsmith College Mace!

Penny took this photo yesterday. At the Graduation Ceremony they procession included this rather grand solid gold mace. I wondered if it was real (gold) and was told that it is! Apparently it started life in 1793 as part of Greenwich Council's ceremonial bling. I asked Penny to take a photo as I think it is probably unlikely that I will have many opportunities to hold solid gold maces!
