Baby Einstein

During her pregnancy, Gina signed up as a subject for a study looking into Feotal Alcohol Syndrome. They'd managed to fill the 'teetotal during pregnancy' group very quickly, and (surprisingly) the 'drinking heavily during pregnancy' group filled up pretty quickly too. We had adopted the "let's have the odd glass of wine or a beer during pregnancy" and they were desperate for participants like that, so that worked out quite well. Just after Miles' first birthday, he had a 3D scan of his face taken (they were looking for markers for FAS  - all good by the way).

The next part of the study happened today, where we went into the Royal Children's Hospital and The Little Goblin had a complete cognitive test done. He was a little star and concentrated throughout for over an hour. We don't get the results for a few weeks (the test needs to be scored), and it really doesn't matter what the outcomes are but the psychologist said he was really on the ball and that his language in particular is very well developed.

I think we knew that anyway. :)

Gina and I spent the rest of the day stripping and painting the front door. I'm really starting to get excited about having this initial phase of renovating finished, and it's starting to feel a lot closer now.
