Appley Tower, Ryde

The afternoon has been dark and gloomy: this morning the rain was just starting.  The tower here sometimes is used and sometimes empty. It was built in 1875 and originally was part of a great estate. It was closed up this morning. A huge container ship was sailing east on the horizon.
