Ruin with a view

After popping in the bank we drove down to Munlochy to take some photos of this derelict farmhouse. As far as I can find out this was Gateside Farm set above Munlochy Bay.
Records show that it was farmed by William Taylor and his son Daniel. William founded Tayor's Munlochy in 1842.He had several domestic servants, shoemakers and shop assistants and moved from Gateside and set up the business in the Post Office Buildings where he ran a post office, General Merchants and Chemist.
 I also found out that an Alexander Maclennan ,who went on to own Bayhead Farm further along the bay, was born at Gateside in 1878. He was one of 16 children born to George Maclennan and Margaret MacKenzie. Although the ruins cover quite a large area with that many children it must have been abit of a squeeze.
 Recently, well in the last 10 years, enquires were made for 'Allocation for light /business Industry or housing at Gateside ' It goes on to say ' At Gateside, Munlochy the derelict steading has potential for redevelopment for business/tourism use (with a possible interpretation to Munlochy Bay). The Council will seek high quality building designs and significant landscaping. Alternatively, development potential for maximum of two houses on the site of the steading and a single house on the site of the existing further down the slope.' (info from 2005)
There were a few objections including access to the road, effect on the local wildlife and the lack of water, sewage and electricity nearby.
We have noticed a few vehicles parked in the area and the grass around the site was well trodden. This maybe from wild bird fowlers or possibly other blippers ;)
The wildlife has already moved in with the usual grass and ivy and a few trees taking over and several yellow hammers took flight as I approached. I should think there's a lot more lurking around too.
