Gibraltar Tower

This is opposite yesterday's playground. For such a grand building it receives little attention. For most of the year it hides behind foliage and although it's close to a main road I'm sure most people drive right past without even noticing it.
Built in 1793, it's located within the 350 acres of private grounds of Heathfield Park which is very rarely opened to the public.
During the 1960s the park was home to a wildlife park and still has hundreds of deer roaming, some of which can occasionally be glimpsed over the wall (two in this picture). About 20 years ago I had to stop the car to let a large crane cross in front of me; probably the last remaining exotic exhibit.
