Hoopoe

Saw this (better condition) Hoopoe at the InterContinental Hotel. What an odd bird it is, with its huge needle thin curved beak, head feathers and black & white wing livery. It looks a bit like a Roadrunner & a Woodpecker mixed but spends most of its time poking its beak into the soil under trees and is a solitary, shadow dweller not keen on showing off its outrageous looks to the world. Great bird & the only bird I photographed yesterday.
