Blue

Hepatica nobilis.  I raised some from seed many years ago, seed from blue flowered plants ..... every one that grew had white flowers!  So last Easter I called in at Ashwood Nurseries on the way back from Wales and bought a blue flowered plant.  It's been a long wait but well worth the waiting when this flower greeted me outside the back door this morning.

Hepatica are woodland plants, flowering before the deciduous canopy unfurls.  I'll be putting this chap in among the snowdrops later on.
