The Sparrow



on closer look

he's not so common

our hearty sparrow 

spread round the world

in forest glen and asphalt jungle 

stalwartly spanning our globe 

borne on breezes, wing feathers and cap 

in grey, black and tan, now brown,

a multitude beneath his wings


For the Record,
This day came in above zero F with no snow as yet. It felt positively balmy when I put out the new beef suet for our birds.
