Victorian Washing Machine

This is the head of a copper plunger which my stepsons found in an old basement. It has a wooden handle - you would plunge it up and down on the boiling washing to help get the washing clean. Soapy water would run through the holes. Now polished and shiny, it is my new kitchen paper holder.
