Sun and shadows

I don't get to see this guy once the geraniums grow back but just now he sits surrounded by the dormant plants. I noticed the way the late afternoon sun was throwing shadows across the face and decided that this would be the blippage de jour.

In other news. Another pile of electronic marking has arrived (can electrons form a pile?) so I'm heading into marking purdah. The main characteristic of this is that the bathroom will be cleaned, I'll do some ironing, the vacuum cleaner will get an outing, etc. And as in previous years for Lent I've given up any thoughts of going hang-gliding. This is a sacrifice I have become comfortable with (which is probably not the idea of Lent but what the heck).
