Photosynthesizing Feathers

Cayuga ducks look completely black until you see them as adults in the light.They grow beautiful iridescent feathers. When the sunlight touches them you can see bright green, blue & purple shimmer all over their head, neck and wings. This is Lucille, a 10 month old hen, foraging for bugs in a field of weeds.
