Lazy afternoon in Luang Prabang

This town is gorgeous. You feel like you're walking the streets of a sleepy town in the south of France. There are baguettes, croissants and crepes available on every corner and coffee shops lining the shady boulevards and beautiful riverside. Clearly the laasting legacy of the French colonists and maintained fantastically well. The old town oozes charm and has prices to match. It's much more expensive than I was expecting but you can see why.

I spent a leisurely afternoon wandering the streets of the old town, soaking up the sun and chicness.

Watched the sunset from Mount Phousi (more of a hill than a mountain really) along with seemingly half the Korean tourists in town. Selfie sticks somewhat tarnished the sunset view unfortunately but it was beautiful all the same.

Then dinner with a great group of people I met on the slow boat.

Night life is chilled here thanks to a strict 11.30pm curfew. The lights go out dead on 11.30 and you're ushered out fairly promptly. For those wanting to continue drinking there's only one place to go - the bowling alley. Not the classiest of joints but does what's needed (i.e. sels vodka and rum by the bottle, blasts out asian pop and stays open til 2.30am.)

We'd experienced this last night and most of the group discovered that Laos spirits give a heck of a hangover so tonight we obeyed the curfew and headed to bed at a respectable hour.
