Roseate spoonbill

On a recent trip through Louisiana, we followed a scenic byway called "All American Creole Nature Highway". What an amazing road, linking a string of National Wildlife Preserves right across the state and into Texas. The birds were incredible, the roads were great, the weather was perfect - what more could you ask?

This bird is a roseate spoonbill - Platalea ajaja. Love the colour!
