Against The Wind
We walked over some of the most northwesterly of the fells today , some minor Wainwrights.
It was dry but there weren't many splashes of sunshine to alleviate the chilly winds, and, which is worse, silly me, I'd forgotten to take my trusty Berghaus waterproof/wind proof jacket.
We had a spare fleece in the car so two layers of merino wool and two layers of fleece just about kept me warm enough walking along the ridge between Lothwaite to Sale Fell . Right parky it was!
This is Skiddaw with a bit of snow on the top, and the North end of Bassenthwaite lake, from Lothwaite
