Embroidery

Our house use to be covered in items covered in embroidery, this piece use to sit on the back of the chairs, I always thought this was because men wore brylcreem.   I am sure they had a name for these covers but can't remember it.

My sister and myself cannot work out if my mum did the work or was it our granny.   I have loads which I have no use for so it all sits in a box in the cupboard.
