What to look for in Spring
A brisk and bright Northwesterly day. Up on the open downland fields sky larks were singing. I walked along the road a way but they are surprisingly elusive suddenly behind me singing. I was not dressed for the wind and retired to the car. I liked the dead straight lines and rich colours of this shot once I reduced the hard shadows by 10 per cent.
I remembered the fantastic illustrations by CF Tunnicliffe in the Ladybird book, "What to Look for in Spring' while I was up there. Lambs on a tree stump is the one I particularly remember.
