Apple trees

These photos are showing the newly planted bananas and the new nursery of apple trees


Binna (a former employee and expert on fruit tree production) came and he will start work tomorrow. He will be working from Monday to Thursday from 7.30 to 4:00pm.


Apples for sale in Mzuzu are imported from South Africa, Zambia and Zimbabwe. Local apples are a rarity. We have a little orchard with apples from Ireland and we will graft these at the appropriate time.
The banana trees in much of the adjoining countries have been wiped out by a fungus. Now that we have burned all our trees last year, we are planting afresh now.


Mightn't look like much, but for us and the area, this will mean a brighter future, as apples fetch a great price at market
