Going back to my roots

This tree was a casualty of the great storm to hit the UK in 1987. Once upon a time it was no doubt standing tall and proud,  but like so many others it fell in that storm and it's roots came clear of the ground. 

Roll forward almost thirty years and it still remains in place as it did on that day that it fell - with the roots exposed but now long dead and dried out.
