A Knitted Spire

The church in my mother’s village is over 1000 years old. A legend says that the spire was knitted because in the 18th century the village was famous for knitted stockings. Not only women and children but also men knitted and were a bit lampooned for that. Today people are proud of their old church with its nice spire
