We went to see the Book of Kells an ornate text of the four Gospels said to be the finest illustrated medieval manuscript in the world. These copies of the Gospels are said to date back to the ninth century. Upstairs is the beautiful Old Library opened around 1732 and is a repository for every book published in the Ireland and the UK.
