Attack of the White-Crowned Sparrow!

Everyone is running.  I barely caught them...they are blurs!  This appears to be a male White-Crowned sparrow trying to chase off  this very nice young couple of house finches who are merely trying to take their morning 'fun bath' together.

I think he's being aggressive because he may be trying to mark his territory so that he and the Missus can build their nest soon nearby.

Their nesting and brooding season typically isn't until May.  However, this freakishly warm Spring-like February weather has moved up the calendar for many species. 

Really?  Another one claiming my backyard for himself!  Pu-leeease!!!!
