MonoMonday: Bridge - "Disaster at the Bridge!"
I thought I'd dig out our old Scalextric for today's MonoMonday, as it has a model of the famous "Dunlop Bridge".
It seems like these drivers have misjudged their approach to the chicane!! :(
(PS According to wikipedia, there have been several "real" Dunlop Bridges, situated at a number of different motor racing circuits around the world. The oldest surviving example is the Circuit de la Sarthe, home of the famous Le Mans 24 hours race, in France. There was also one at Donington Park, UK, but it was removed during renovations for the failed attempt to stage the 2010 British F1 Grand Prix, and due to new racing safety regulations, cannot be restored. DJ Chris Evans accidentally bought the bridge while visiting a racing memorabilia auction in September 2012.)
Sincere thanks to JoannaInOz. for hosting Mono)monday this month.
