The peonies are in bloom and I am so thrilled to see them. I found two plants sprouting through a pile of rocks at the back of the house after we'd had some construction done. Once we identified what they were we moved them to the front garden two years ago and this is the first year that they have bloomed in a big way. I am really happy they've survived and thrived.

Heavy rain yesterday overloaded and snapped one bloom off so I retrieved it and brought it in, it looks beautiful on the mantel and is perfuming the room.
