Rail replacement service - words that have an ominous ring for anyone planning a train journey, particularly at weekends. And today is a bit of a double whammy - engineering works between Derby and Birmingham, require a detour round Leicester and an extra 45 minutes for that leg of the journey. And the landslip between Banbury and Leamington Spa means a coach trip between those stations - so my normal 3 hour journey turns into 5 hours. But it's better to travel hopefully than to arrive - and a good guided meditation to listen to on your headphones also helps.
