Woody Comes to Call

For a second day now, a woodpecker is seen eating from the nuts hanging in the tree at the bottom of the garden.

I noticed him yesterday briefly but was quite unsure to his species and failed to describe him properly this morning.

I was delighted, though, to see him back and to have a educated eye identify him as woodpecker.  We await more specialist eyes to be sure he is actually a male!
