DANDY: Disabled and Not Dead Yet

Welcome to the launch of a new political party: The DANDY (Disabled and Not Dead Yet) party which was launched tonight, 15 February in the fine city of Norwich.  Mick Hardy, a disabled singer/songwriter and disability rights activist will stand against Chloe Smith (Conservative) in Norwich North in the forthcoming General Election.

You think that's bonkers?  Well it's not half as bonkers as the current Government policies which are steadily killing vast numbers of disabled people.

One of the things which was particularly brilliant about the launch is that it was attended by people of many political affiliations - or of none.  The one thing they have in common is that they share an absolute disgust at the way disabled people are being treated in the UK by the current Government.

The brains behind DANDY Party are Mick and my friends Vince Laws and Eloise O'Hare, two members of the Norwich Dandies Art Collective of which I am a proud member.  Mick, Eloise and Vince are living with a range of disabilities, are all talented artists and activists.

This is a photo of Vince and you can see more photos from the launch
