The man in the screen

We were walking down University Avenue in Palo Alto and noticed this store but could not figure out what they were selling. We walked in but found no one — just a bunch of monitors like the one in the photo. All of a sudden, one of the monitors came over to us. This man’s face was on the screen and he started to talk to us. He works for a company called Suitable Technologies (https://www.suitabletech.com/beampro/#beamFeatures) and they market the Beam product line. Their pitch is that their product allows users to interact with remote locations by coupling high-end video and audio with the freedom of motion to move about a space. He said he got one for his parents so he can communicate with them just as if he were in the room with them. After a few minutes we left the store and he said “Goodbye and thanks for coming in the store.”
