Sequoias on Gillies Hill

These giant sequoia trees are thought to be around 150 years old and they dominate the skyline over Gillies Hill. For the first time today I found their exact location and saw the trees up close. They are certainly fine specimens but sadly  these distinctive trees will disappear should quarrying re commence. 
The petition against the renewal of quarrying now has over 4500 names on it and thanks to everyone who has expressed an objection.
