The Braes o' Gleniffer

"Keen blaws the win' o'er the braes o' Gleniffer" is  the first line of one of the best known poems of Robert Tannahill 1774-1810 Paisley weaver poet and songwriter this poem from "Printed in Paisley" 1807 his only published book establishing his reputation. In recent years CDs of his "Complete Songs"  have been produced by Dr Fred Freeman some recognition at last after 200 years of neglect
Looking north from Robertson Park down over modern Paisley with Glasgow beyond this was a favourite haunt of his and many poems and songs reflect his love of the area
