Winter Sun, White Nancy

My sister and I took our dog for a walk up to White Nancy. White Nancy is a structure at the top of the northern extremity of The Saddle of Kerridge, overlooking the village of Kerridge and the town of Bollington, Cheshire.

It was quite a bleak, overcast day but we wrapped up warm and made our assent to the peak. The higher we got the more cloudy it became but just as we reached the final part of the climb, we broke through the cloud and happened upon the most magical view I'd ever seen and have ever seen since. The cloud rested like a blanket between us and the world below and the winter sun shone through, totally unobstructed upon the peak. With only an iPhone to hand I took this shot of my sister standing in front of the sun. It was a magical moment in time that we were lucky enough to capture a memory of and through it share with you a glimpse of the amazing planet on which we exist.
