Gary's inaugural opening

Gary P Hayes is a well known name to those that take even the slightest interest in art and photography in the Blue Mountains.  Photographer of note, Gary produces the most amazing landscape photographs, primarily of our beloved Blue Mountains.  And of course this shot of Gary is absolute rubbish, but I stupidly rushed it and it shows.

He recently moved to Mount Victoria where he and his charming partner Laurel purchased a home - last on the right down Kanimbla Valley Road, within easy sight of Pulpit Rock.

This weekend is the first time that Gary has opened the studio and I was delighted to be able to go and visit to see how they are going.  The previous owner was an artist and he would be so chuffed to see how his former painting studio was once again being used for wonderful creative endeavours.

I'm not sure how often Gary is going to open his studio - but if you get a chance, highly recommended.  I'll be purchasing one of his books of the Grose Valley to keep at work for visitors at reception.  If you're looking for a gift for someone with a mountains theme, his books are stunning.
