small lady in red

I was struck by the loveliness of Eve in her red duffle coat against the red lanterns which currently adorn Manchester's trees in readiness for Chinese New Year celebrations. I requested a smile but she was unwilling to oblige!

Ju and I dropped Mum's clothes at a very lovely charity shop this morning. So a sad task is done. Part of me wanted to leave it undone though I know they're only clothes.... but her clothes, so they took on a preciousness beyond their worth in my eyes. A few beautiful items have been retained for posterity and we've kept items we previously coveted because we know she'd be cross if we didn't. All so strange.
