A New Visitor

I filled up the bird feeders (again) this morning and was very surprised to see this chap appear and tuck into the seeds on the tray. Don't think we have ever had one of these before.

I was lucky in that he stayed long enough for me to grab my camera, swap lenses and grab a couple of shots.

Taken through the kitchen window, full stretch on the zoom and hand held at 1/30". Also cropped severely as feeders are about 10 metres away so no chance of getting a frame filling shot! So not the most detailed shot in the world - but not bad I think.

The colours were really striking and he looked in beautiful condition. Mrs madwill spotted a female as well.
