Picture House, Uckfield

Went to see the latest version of Testament of Youth at a cinema fittingly opened in 1916.  It appears that it was used as a garrison theatre during the war and only got a cinema license in 1920.  Still can't help wondering about taking on a project like a new cinema in 1915/16.  Does it show faith in the outcome or just naivety?
