Focus stacking

I had proper play with my remote camera trigger.  One of its features is focus stacking.  It's a hell of a lot easier than crouching over the camera,   trying not to nudge it and adjusting the focus in small enough steps.

Once I had set up the camera, tripod, flash and remote trigger I could control the whole process on my phone from the comfort of the sitting room.  All the focus settings are adjustable and it automatically produces the focus slices needed for merging in Photoshop.

I'm still not exactly sure what all the settings do and in this image I didn't quite focus far enough back to get the main area of the petals in focus.  It shows great potential though and I am on the lookout for some interesting fungi.
