Customs

In England when you're ill people tend to leave you alone so you can get better. But here everyone visits you. This afternoon I visited an old lady who's just had an operation. The house was full of relatives and neighbours coming and going to wish her well.

One of my friends enjoyed regaling the roomful of ladies with stories of some of the cultural faux pas I've made while living here which they all found very funny. I'm getting used to being laughed at now!
