Young and American

My family expanded today as we welcomed 2 "Young American" new daughters into our home. Alissa and Katie were the perfect house guests, and gave Mairi and about 185 other Hiroshima kids a fantastic time at the start of the 3 day workshop they are here to give.
I, for my self destructive sins, was the leader of a group of lovely volunteers from among the parents who agreed to staff the event. It was very much a case of the blind leading the blind, but we had a great laugh trying to work out what we were doing wrong!
The plan is to learn by doing this year and then show them all how it is done right next year. If you have a Young Americans workshop near you, I highly recommend you give it a try for your kids.
