Tuesday, February 10, 2015 -- San Simeon

This afternoon we decided to drive north toward Cambria to walk on the shoreline. Afterward I suggested that we go north a couple more miles to San Simeon to get a snack at Sebastian's Store.

As I walked through the entrance into the place, Lori saw me from a distance. We had not seen each other in years. She approached me and instantly we were getting reaquainted. I've known her since she was a preschooler. She is now in her early 40s and she teaches elementary school. Years ago her mom and dad went through a very ugly divorce. I had been good friends with Lori's mom and I watched the divorce destroy her.

We are several hundred miles from our southern California home and it was quite a surprise to see someone in Sebastian's that we knew.

After that we started south toward Cayucos.
