Another Unicorn
It was light and bright when we left this morning, what a difference that makes to the start of your day. I had a busy day at work, but made time to pop out for some fresh air at lunchtime, by which time the brightness had turned to grey.
We have had a busy evening. TT had to come home early to pick up BB and take him to an East Lothian schools church service. BB had been chosen by his school to read a prayer. That left me to get the bus home, followed by a swift walk up the hill home. I was in the house just long enough to get changed before a swift walk back down the hill to school as I was helping at the Valentine’s Discos. They were well attended and the children all had fun. BB and his friends made it back just in time for their disco. He was hungry and exhausted when we eventually got home.
Here’s a colourful unicorn to brighten up another grey day. It can be found at Holyrood. The heraldic panel originally stood over a gatehouse. It bears the Royal Arms and IR5 for King James V. I think he was the father of Mary Queen of Scots. He was King of Scotland from 1513 till his death in 1542.
After posting my first unicorn on Monday I discovered that unicorns have an open crown around their necks, with a chain attached. The chain is tethered to the ground, because a free unicorn is a very dangerous beast. You learn something new every day!
