Nibela Peninsula

After a number of abortive attempts I finally got out birding with Themba on some of his favourite sites on the flood plains between False Bay and Lake St Lucia.

The Nibela Peninsula is teeming with birdlife but the wide open terrain makes it hard to get close with the camera. This shot shows part of a flock of several hundred yellow-billed storks, small numbers of which were constantly taking off and landing while we were there
