Cups on...

As milking will be over for the season next week, I decided it was time that I took a picture of a cow being milked. Here my husband is about to put the last of the four cups on a cows udder.

Cows are very intelligent animals, and are very quick to tell you that they don't want to be milked, especially at this time of the year - they stand outside the cowshed where we have to 'push' them into the yard. This is a huge contrast to what happens in spring, when their udders are so tight of milk that they have no issues going into the shed to be milked.

These cows just want it to all be over for a couple of months - so they can enjoy a holiday from the 'chore' going to the cowshed each day.
