Flown away

An empty chrysalis.  

The colour changes they go through fascinate me.  When they are new they're clear bright green.  They gradually fade out to the palest of greens before appearing to go black.  They're not actually black, that's the pint at which they're clear and you can see the developing butterfly through them.  

When the butterfly leaves you're left with this beautiful sheer casing.  But right through all stages of that process those gold dots remain.
